Take me out to the ball game!

Well, baseball season is here again and it is time consuming.  I guess T-ball is allowed only to take up three days a week so Daniel's coach takes advantage of that as much as he can.  Games started at the end of March and we have had four games so far, three of which were last week.  We have won all four games so far.  I don't think that they will win when they come up against some of these teams a second time.  Almost all of the boys on one of the teams we played were tall.  We got a lot of shorter boys and several that have never played before.

Daniel gets to play pitcher this year and he is SO excited about it.  He wanted to be pitcher so bad last year.  Daniel and the first baseman never change positions because those two are good and they work really well together.  They get the majority of the outs.  Daniel has gotten (almost) 3 home runs so far.  One of them he actually was able to get around to all the bases but the other two runs Daniel couldn't make it past second because the boy who had hit before him just kind of stood on the base and it took forever to get his attention enough to move.  Then when he finally moved, he just kind of skipped along in no hurry.  I know I need to be patient but it gets a little frustrating when Daniel has to bat after this boy.  That only happens when we haven't been able to get through the whole batting line in an inning.   It's kind of sad that the little boy is playing because he does not want to play.  His mom has to make him go out and practice and has to keep telling him to pay atttention and to play.  I don't know if she's going to make him finish the season but we only have ten kids on the team and can't really lose another one.  We did start out at twelve but two of them were having trouble with school and got pulled out of baseball by their moms.  It should still be a good season though.  And Emily is the teams cheerleader.  She likes to yell and cheer for the boys and tells Daniel to get ready and hit the ball hard and to run fast.  It's very cute.
