A week of fun

Last week on Saturday we spent the day as a family wandering around the greater Houston area. We went to the church bookstore that was right near the temple where we found and picked up the 2nd singles ward. We had no idea that they had made a second one. Anyway it was funny and we enjoyed it. Then we went to a few golf stores so that Mike could find a new driver for his birthday. He didn't find one in the stores but found what he wanted on e-bay and it was much cheaper than it would have been otherwise. Then we went to the mall where they have an exploration station and a children's museum. There was also a carousel in the food court that Mike and Daniel rode on. They had a lot of fun. We spent about two hours wandering around and playing in the children's museum. Daniel especially had fun and didn't want to leave. There was a surprising amount of things for the kids to do considering that it was in a mall. It was only $5 a person so it was very reasonably priced and we will be going fairly often.

This past week we have also been trying to find different programs on the computer for Daniel to do to help him learn to read. We've found a couple but haven't decided on one yet. He is surprising me with the things that he has picked up and with his memorization skills. He knows all 13 Articles of Faith now, all of his letters, is learning to spell quite a few words, can count to 120, and can read at least 10 words, probably more. He has really enjoyed learning and that makes me so happy because although education wasn't very important to me in high school, it is now. Sometime I would like to further my own education and get a doctorate or phd but we'll see.

Emily is getting up on her hands and knees and is so close to crawling. She's also making more and more mouth noises and wants her paci less and less. She hasn't seemed to feel all that great lately and I thought "Maybe she's finally teething." Thinking about it, I don't think so. The poor little baby hasn't pooped in about a week now. Her tummy has got to be hurting! I'm giving her apple and prune juice so hopefully something will happen by the end of the day. Every time I get the camera and point it at her she looks at me and smiles or puts her tongue out. She really likes the camera and Daniel just makes funny faces.

Oh, your kids are getting so big! I wish you would come back up here for a visit. I want to see them so bad. Stephen just loves the pictures you post. He still remembers his friend Daniel.

I agree it is so sweet when kids love each other and it shows. Stephen and Skyler are the best of friends. Stephen has always been the best at getting Skyler to laugh too, but they giggle the hardest when getting into trouble.
